TECHNICAL LIMITATIONS / REMOTE SUPPORT

IT Services Disclaimer

Effective: August 9, 2025Annual review: August 9, 2026Next scheduled review: August 9, 2027

Technology environments depend on software, hardware, networks, providers and human administration. This disclaimer explains why remote IT consulting can improve configuration and solve defined problems without being able to guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent compatibility or elimination of every technology risk.

IMPORTANT CONTEXT

The service scope described on this website is general small-business IT consulting and support. Specialized cybersecurity, regulated compliance, forensic analysis, high-availability engineering or enterprise managed services require a separately defined engagement.

1. Purpose of this disclaimer

This disclaimer explains technical limitations that are inherent in remote IT consulting, software configuration, troubleshooting, cloud setup, backup configuration and application integration. It should be read together with the Terms of Service and the specific scope for the engagement.

2. Technology changes over time

Software versions, operating systems, security requirements, APIs, subscription features, account permissions and vendor interfaces change regularly. Recommendations are based on information and system conditions reasonably available when the work is performed.

3. No guarantee of error-free systems

Reasonable professional care can reduce problems, but no remote technology service can guarantee that a system, application, device or account will operate without interruption or error. Issues may arise from software defects, failed hardware, network instability, corrupted data, conflicting configuration, provider outages or changes made by other administrators.

4. Third-party vendors

Microsoft, Google, Shopify, CRM providers, cloud vendors, software publishers, internet providers and device manufacturers independently control their products and services. Vendor outages, forced updates, changed pricing, account restrictions, feature removal, API limits, security incidents and licensing decisions are outside the service provider’s direct control.

5. Remote access limitations

Remote work depends on available connectivity, compatible remote-access methods and sufficient client permissions. Some issues cannot be accurately diagnosed or repaired without physical inspection, replacement hardware or onsite access. In those cases, an onsite technician, manufacturer or other specialist may be recommended.

6. Backups

Backup configuration reduces risk but does not guarantee complete recovery in every event. Backup jobs can fail because of storage limits, authentication changes, deleted source data, software errors, network outages, account suspension or other conditions. Clients should verify backup status and periodically test recovery where business continuity is important.

7. Data loss

Technical changes can affect stored data, synchronization, permissions and application behavior. Clients should maintain appropriate backups before material changes. No representation is made that every form of accidental deletion, corruption or prior data loss can be reversed.

8. Cybersecurity

General IT configuration may improve security hygiene, but it is not a guarantee against phishing, malware, account takeover, social engineering, insider misuse, zero-day vulnerabilities, ransomware or other cyber events. Unless specifically agreed, the services are not a managed security operations service, penetration test, digital forensics engagement or regulatory cybersecurity audit.

9. Access control and identity

Authentication and permission configuration depends on the options made available by the relevant provider and on the accuracy of client-supplied user information. The client remains responsible for deciding who should retain administrative authority and for promptly removing access when a user no longer requires it.

10. Integrations and APIs

Application integrations rely on APIs, connectors, authentication methods, data fields and subscription levels supplied by third parties. An integration that works at the time of setup may later require adjustment if a vendor changes its technical interface or product terms.

11. Email and deliverability

Business email configuration can address accounts, domains and standard settings within the available platform, but no guarantee can be made that every external mail provider will accept or deliver every message. Deliverability may be affected by domain reputation, recipient filtering, provider policies, content, authentication records and factors outside the service provider’s control.

12. Cloud storage and synchronization

Cloud file services may experience sync conflicts, storage limits, deleted items, provider outages or permission errors. Proper configuration can reduce avoidable problems, but the client remains responsible for determining its required retention, redundancy and business-continuity standard.

13. Software licensing and compatibility

Clients are responsible for obtaining valid software licenses and subscriptions. Compatibility between applications, operating systems, devices and plugins may change after updates or vendor changes. Work cannot guarantee indefinite compatibility with future versions.

14. Regulatory and legal suitability

Technology recommendations are not legal, tax, accounting, insurance or regulated compliance advice. Clients in regulated industries remain responsible for determining whether a platform, data location, retention rule, security configuration or vendor contract satisfies their specific legal and contractual obligations.

15. Business continuity

Remote IT support can assist with configuration and troubleshooting but does not replace a business continuity or disaster recovery program designed for the client’s specific operational risk. Businesses requiring formal recovery-time objectives, high availability or regulated continuity controls should use appropriately scoped specialist services.

16. Client changes after completion

Results may change if the client, an employee, another administrator, a software update or a third-party provider modifies settings after the work is completed. Follow-up work required because of later changes may fall outside the original scope.

17. Annual review

This disclaimer is scheduled for review once each year on August 9 and may be updated earlier when service scope, commonly used technology or material legal requirements change.
